The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) emerged champions of the 2026 Security Services Fun Football Gala after defeating the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) Customs Division 1-0 in a thrilling final at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Accra.
A second-half strike from jersey number 18, Seth Asamanyua, proved decisive as GIS secured victory and lifted the coveted trophy after an impressive campaign throughout the competition.
GIS began their journey in commanding fashion, recording a convincing 3-0 victory over the Ghana Prisons Service in their opening match. The team then advanced to the semifinals, where they edged the Ghana Armed Forces 1-0 to book a place in the final.
In the championship match against GRA Customs Division, both sides displayed determination and discipline, but it was Seth Asamanyua who broke the deadlock in the second half, sending GIS supporters into celebration and sealing a historic triumph for the Service.
The 2026 Security Services Fun Football Gala was organized by the Ghana Armed Forces in collaboration with other security services under the theme “Working Together Through Sports.” The competition served as a platform to promote unity, teamwork, physical fitness, and stronger relationships among personnel from the various security institutions in Ghana.
