The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has launched the “ECOWAS for All” national citizens’ engagement and public sensitisation campaign to bring the benefits of regional integration closer to ordinary Ghanaians.
Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. James Gyakye Quayson, stressed that despite five decades of ECOWAS progress, many citizens are still unaware of their rights to visa‑free travel, duty‑free trade, and freedom of residence and work under ECOWAS protocols.
Running from October to December 2026, the campaign will use stakeholder forums, market outreach, border community engagements, media programmes, and student workshops to educate citizens and gather feedback on implementation challenges.
The initiative aligns with Ghana’s commitment to ECOWAS Vision 2050 and aims to transform ECOWAS from a “community of states” into a “community of peoples and prosperity.”
