The Tema Regional Command
The Tema Regional Command of the Ghana Immigration Service is a key operational area within the GIS. Tema is located in the Greater Accra Region, which serves as a vital entry point for goods and people into Ghana, thanks to its significant seaport (Tema Port). The Tema Command oversees immigration activities in this bustling industrial and trade hub. The Regional Commander is DCOI Beatrice Okpoti.
The Major Functions / Strategic Goals of the Regional Command.
- Receive and forward fresh applications for residence permit to Headquarters.
- Extend visitors permit for up to three months.
- Administer the Districts/Municipal and Sector Commands within the Regions.
- Ensure effective control and monitoring of the sea ports.
- Perform enforcement/intelligence duties in the Region.
- Facilitate processing of passport applications at the Passport Application Centre.
- Collaborate with other Security Agencies
