The meeting addressed the escalating terrorist threat in the Sahel and coastal West Africa, with emphasis on violent extremist groups, transnational crime, irregular migration, and arms smuggling. Ghana’s northern borders were highlighted as particularly vulnerable due to instability in neighboring Sahelian states.

Mr. Amadu reaffirmed GIS’s commitment to enhancing border surveillance, intelligence-driven operations, tactical readiness, and intUnited Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT). er-agency cooperation to counter these emerging threats.
