The second phase of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) recruitment exercise has officially commenced at all designated centres nationwide. The exercise forms part of the Service’s ongoing efforts to recruit qualified, disciplined, and credible personnel to support its core mandate.
The Comptroller-General of Immigration (CGI) today paid working visits to some recruitment centres in Accra, namely the Prisons Training School, the Ghana Police Church, and Christ the King. During the visits, the CGI interacted with officers on duty and applicants, stressing the need for transparency, fairness, and strict compliance with recruitment guidelines.
The Comptroller-General used the opportunity to address applicants, issuing strong warnings against document falsification and age manipulation. He directed that any applicant found with documentation irregularities should be disqualified immediately. He further cautioned applicants who had altered their dates of birth, explaining that the GIS training programme is physically demanding and that age-related inconsistencies would naturally be exposed during training. The CGI reiterated that any applicant found to have submitted fake or forged documents would be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
The second phase of the recruitment exercise focuses on critical assessment areas, including document verification and body selection. Applicants are required to present original and valid documents such as birth certificates, educational certificates, national identification cards, and other relevant credentials. Officers carefully examine these documents to confirm authenticity, consistency of personal details, and eligibility.
In addition to document checks, applicants undergo body selection, where officers assess physical appearance, fitness, posture, and overall readiness for the rigorous training programme of the Ghana Immigration Service.
The Comptroller-General of immigration,Mr Samuel Amadu Basintel expressed satisfaction with the overall conduct of the exercise and commended officers deployed to the various centres for their professionalism and dedication. He wished all eligible applicants well as the recruitment exercise continues nationwide.
Mr Amadu was accompanied on the inspection tour by Head of Public Affairs DCOI Maud Anima Quainoo, Chief Staff Officer (CSO) Gordon Saah, along with other senior officers of the Ghana Immigration Service, who supported the monitoring exercise to ensure a smooth, transparent, and credible recruitment process.
