The Greater Accra regional Command
Brief Introduction
The Greater Accra Regional Command of the Ghana Immigration Service is one of the eighteen (18) regional commands established to oversee immigration operations within the region. The Command is made up of three (3) Sectors with two (2) satellite offices. They are Weija Sector Command, Amasaman Sector Command and Adenta Sector Command with Legon and Abokobi as satellite offices under the Adenta Sector Command.
The Regional Commander is in the person of Deputy Commissioner of Immigration DCOl Samuel Tetteh Ayer, who assumed office on 23rd July 2022 and continues to uphold the mandate of the command with unwavering commitment and professionalism.
MAJOR FUNCTIONS OF THE COMMAND
- The functions of the Greater Accra Regional Command are to:
- Issuing of student permit
- Extension of visitors’ permits
- Enforcement duties
- Contribute to National security.
